Getting your mindset right is the #1 thing you have to conquer if you want to succeed in becoming consistent. As the popular saying goes, “You are your worst enemy and best asset.”

Today, we’ll cover the 3 toxic myths about consistency that you MUST break away from in order to start sticking to your habits.

From serving many 1:1 private & groups clients from all walks of life over the last 6 years, I can tell you that the best and most successful clients are those with the right mindset and attitude, who have the right beliefs about creating habits of health + success that stick.

It’s myth-busters time, my friend! Time to re-align your perspectives and make things right :)

Myth #1: “Just tell me what to do to be consistent and I’ll do it!”

Will work in the short term, yes!

You have this misconception because maybe you’re seeking advice from someone that has done what you want to do, so you want to do exactly what they’ve done.

Truth is, no two people are alike and is “losing the weight” or “getting out of debt” or building a business” The things you REALLY WANT and WHY?

Or maybe it’s that you want more energy to keep up with your kids or comfortably buckle the airplane seatbelt on your trip to Disney that you’ll go on all the rides with them. Or be able to send them to college without worry or create financial and time freedom for the first time in your life. Make sense?

Myth #2: “You need to be self disciplined to be consistent.”

This is SO not true.

Self Discipline wavers and is unreliable!

If you really don’t want to do something, you’re not going to do it, find excuses, procrastinate, make other things more important. Period. Yet, you’ve heard time and time again and / or told yourself that you just need to be more disciplined, right?

You need to create habits that stick for the things that are meaningful to you.

Your success is going to be found in the consistency of your daily routine aka your everyday habits.

If this has been a challenge for you — Good News, I have personally had clients that have felt STUCK on the proverbial hamster wheel that have found their way off, so I know that you can too!

Myth #3: You need motivation to be consistent.

I can totally understand why someone would believe in this as I’ve been there myself, but I have seen time and time again that consistency comes from FEELING GOOD!

Again, motivation fluctuates day to day! You can feel incredibly motivated to start the day / week and then life happens, right?

And again, you’ve probably heard and googled ways to stay motivated…

Truth is, what you’ve unlikely heard is that when you feel good and successful, you will take inspired actions to continue on your path.

And when you’re feeling good, successful and taking inspired action, you have just become consistent! And that’s a beautiful thing, right?

Why is believing in these 3 myths problematic?

Because believing in these 3 myths will stop you from taking the right action. Your confidence gets affected, you don’t seek guidance, and subsequently, you don’t transform your health, productivity, success + happiness as a result.

As someone who helps people change their habits for a living, I have seen breakthrough after breakthrough and I know that it is not difficult to feel successful, people just don’t have the right guidance to succeed when it comes to creating habits that stick.

Many people search for information online fruitlessly, and when that doesn’t work, they give up. I don’t want you to give up because if I can do this, so can you!

So take heart. You can do this and don’t you dare for a second doubt yourself.

Alrighty, my friend — That’s all I have for today! See you soon!

Hit reply if you’re looking for someone to provide you with 1:1 accountability + support this Summer! The way I see it — If not now, when?

Until next time… Helping you get your shit together, one habit at a time! 😉
